Internally, 10mm dynamic drivers deliver a frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz with a 32 ohm impedance. The Tune Buds are compatible with Bluetooth 5.3 and support the AAC and SBC codecs. JBL says it will include LC3 support in the future, but didn’t provide a timeframe. The Soundcore Liberty 4 NC earbuds have the edge in this regard as they work with the hi-res-capable LDAC codec on compatible Android devices. The Tune Buds at least support multipoint pairing for connections with up to two devices simultaneously.
Capacitive touch panels on the outside of each earpiece handle the on-ear operations. In the app, you can choose between several sets of control themes for each side. By default, a single tap on the left earpiece switches between the ANC and Ambient Aware (transparency) modes. You can add an Off option to the cycle via the app. Two taps enable Talk Thru mode, an adjusted version of Ambient Aware meant to highlight conversations. On the right earbud, one tap handles playback, two taps take you to the next track, and three taps take you to the previous track. On either earpiece, two taps answer or end calls, while a long press summons your voice assistant. You can swap to a Volume Control scheme on one of the earbuds if you prefer, but it’s rather basic—one tap increases the volume, two taps decreases the volume, and a tap-and-hold gesture summons
